Travelling between the TRNC (Turkish Republic of North Cyprus) & the RoC (Republic of Cyprus) has become a lot easier for holiday makers and home owners since the opening of several border crossings in the last few years.
If you are flying to Ercan International Airport, in North Cyprus, on arrival you will be asked to fill in a visa form with your full name and passport number. The immigration official will then stamp this form with an entry stamp which includes the number of days the visa lasts.
On returning to the UK the immigration official will stamp the same form with an exit stamp.
If you are going to fly into Larnaca or Paphos in the Southern Republic of Cyprus your driver will give you the visa form to fill in while making the journey to the border crossing.
At the border the Greek Cypriot Police may ask to see your EU Passport you will then drive a very short distance to the Turkish Cypriot border control where you will present your passport and visa form to the immigration official who will enter your details into their database and stamp your visa form with an entry stamp which includes the number of days the visa lasts.
On returning to the border crossing you will give your passport and visa form to the immigration official who will stamp the form with an exit stamp.
You may then be required to show your EU Passport to a Greek Cypriot official on entry to the European member state. |
